Efficiency Network
Efficiency Network is the Quality Mark, both for companies and administrations, that work in the Port of Barcelona and that are committed to offering reliability, information, transparency and security to their clients.
The Quality Mark of the Port of Barcelona
The quality mark Efficiency Network brings together 106 companies from all sectors of the Port Community and also has the involvement and collaboration of four administrations: Customs, Border Inspection Services, SOIVRE and Maritime Captaincy.
Created in 2010, it has become a key element of the Port's brand services that allow deployment of its port network strategy, since the presence and positioning of the Port of Barcelona in the hinterland is not only achieved by developing infrastructures but also by offering identical quality of service throughout the territory. The Efficiency Network allows the level of quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the Port of Barcelona to be transferred to the entire logistics chain.
The Port of Barcelona Efficiency Network Quality Mark adds value to companies certified, which reaches 9 percentage points in their turnover. In addition, when two or more certified companies work together, their knowledge increases even more and this performance improvement is transferred to the entire logistics chain.
A brand, objectives, commitments, a guarantee and many advantages. This is what it means to be a certified member of the Efficiency Network. Responsibility, vocation for continuous improvement and compensation to clients in case of breach of commitments.
The direct benefits of the Efficiency Network
The IESE business school has analysed the Port of Barcelona Quality Mark and has demonstrated its direct benefits.
The study The value has been provided by the Efficiency Network Quality Mark to the organisations of the Port of Barcelona for seven years and has shown that the certification adds value to those companies that decide to adhere to this quality programme that amounts to nine percentage points in their turnover.
The analysis confirms that certified companies manage a greater volume of activity and this difference is accentuated after three or four years of certification. The study has also shown that certified companies, as a result of the inspections and analysis of their audits, have more operational experience and, therefore, greater specialisation.
