Accreditations and permits

To access the restricted area of the Port of Barcelona, whether to work, provide a service or make a visit, you must have the corresponding accreditation. You must also request a permit to carry out certain non-port activities.

Application and processing

Applications must be made, in most cases, by the company or entity for which you work or carry out the activity or the one to which you should contact. Depending on the type of accreditation or permit, the procedures are different and demand different requirements.

 

Who manages the authorisations?

Passes and Permits, integrated service within the scope of Port Protection of the Corporate Security area, is primarily responsible for managing authorisations for the Port of Barcelona. Processes regular and sporadic access accreditations, as well as permits for non-port activities within the port area, subject to official fees and tariffs, respectively.

The Communication Department is in charge of managing permits for the media and training entities.

Port Vell also processes permits for filming and photographic sessions in the spaces of the citizen port. Films like "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" or "The perfume” and numerous advertisements have had these spaces as their setting.

Types of authorisation and how to process them

APB identification cards for regular activities
If, due to your professional activity, you need to access the port area on a daily basis.
APB identification cards for temporary activities
If, due to your professional activity, you need to access the restricted area of the port area sporadically, but continuously.
Temporary access pass to the Energía dock
If you have to make a visit or carry out a service at the Energía dock for a limited time.
Pass for visits or specific services in a restricted area
If you have to access the restricted area of the port area (except the Energía dock) occasionally to make a visit or carry out a service.
Permit for non-port activities in the port area.
If you want to carry out any non-port activity and/or for commercial purposes (filming, event...) in the port area. It also manages flight permits (drones, helicopters or small planes) for which additional external procedures are required.
Taking photos for the media and educational centres
If you want to take photos for journalistic coverage (without commercial purpose) in the port area. Also to process permits for training entities.

Application that allows the personnel designated by the Port Authority and by the companies and services that use the Energía dock to authorise temporary access to the restricted area of the port.
