Rosa dels Vents square
Rosa dels Vents square was created with the construction of Hotel W and its area has been expanded with the development of the Marina Vela project. Now it offers 1.2 hectares of very open public space with spectacular 360 degree views of the open sea and the city and Montjuic.

Discover the nautical world
One of the main elements of the square will be an aedicule or small pavilion that will house a bar and protect oculos (small round windows) from which you will be able to observe the activity of the Dry Marina.
Technology and sustainability
The Dry Marina of the Marina Vela marina is a state-of-the-art robotic infrastructure, located underneath the square, which allows the storage of 222 vessels up to 9 metres in length and 4 tons in weight. This reduces the number of moorings in the water and the environmental impact associated with the construction of new docks.
Heritage elements
In the new spaces of the square you will be able to see a unique sundial, which has been donated to the port by its builder, and has therefore become part of our heritage catalogue.
In addition, the spaces of the first phase of the square, closest to the hotel, host the marble and steel sculpture Les 4 barres, designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill.
Direct connection to the beach
The end of the Mare Nostrum promenade will connect Sant Sebastià beach with Rosa dels Vents square through a staircase and a ramp. This construction will allow you to follow the coastline and reach the New Passeig del Trencaones without interruption.
