Louis Vuitton America's Cup

The first phase, the Preliminary Regatta, took place from August 22^nd to August 25^th, 2024. It was the first time all six teams competed with their AC75s. Four days of match-racing left two finalists (Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team), who faced off in the final match-race, which ended with the victory of the New Zealand team.

The second phase, the Louis Vuitton Cup Round Robin, took place from August 29^th to September 11^th. In this phase, the New Zealand team did not risk anything, as they had their place in the final secured as the title defender. After 8 days of racing, the finalists were INEOS Britannia and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, being the first one the winner of the trophy. On the other hand, after finishing last in the standings, the French team Orient Express Racing Team was the first to be eliminated from the competition.

The victory in the Round Robin granted INEOS Britannia the privilege of choosing their opponent in the semifinals, which took place from September 14^th to 19^th. The British decided to face Alinghi Red Bull Racing, making the second pair of opponents Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team against American Magic. After 7 races, the British defeated the Swiss (5-2), while the Italians needed 8 races to defeat the Americans (5-3).

Thus, the finalists of the Louis Vuitton Cup were INEOS Britannia and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, who faced off from September 26^th to October 4^th. In the eleventh race, the British were proclaimed finalists of the Louis Vuitton 37^th America’s Cup, defeating the Italians 7-4.

The final of the Louis Vuitton 37^th America’s Cup, between Emirates Team New Zealand and INEOS Britannia, took place from October 12^th to October 19^th. The New Zealanders needed only 11 races to win 7-2 against the British, in a final marked by the dominance and excellence of the defending team, which revalidated the title for the third consecutive time.

Unicredit Youth and Puig Women's

Simultaneously, the Unicredit Youth America’s Cup (the youth competition) was held, ending with the victory of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Youth Team, against the NYYC American Magic Youth Team. Additionally, at the Puig Women’s America’s Cup (the female competition), the Italian team was also the winner, this time against the British team Athena Pathway – Women. Both competitions featured the participation of the Spanish team Sail Team BCN. In the first case, the youth team took sixth place, while in the second, the Spanish sailors secured a podium finish, taking third place.
