Port community
Under the name of Port Community of the Port of Barcelona, there are around 500 organisations that participate in infrastructure activity and share the same idea of service and quality.
A community of 40,000 people
The Port Community encompasses a world in itself that generates around 40,000 direct jobs, 238,000 indirect jobs and represents, as a logistics cluster, almost 6% of Catalonia’s GDP.
The Port of Barcelona began to become a single port community of services with the signing of the Concerted Quality Charter in 1993, through the integration of public and private operators with responsibilities and interests in the territorial area, with the aim of meeting the needs and expectations of its clients.
Its actions are defined within a plenary body called the Governing Council for the Promotion of the Port Community of Barcelona.
Working with a common goal
As a whole, the Port Community is a major employer in the area.
Its priority in this sense is always to generate stable jobs and promote training initiatives both for its staff and those that attract talent to their organisations.
