The port of the future

English-language version of the Port of Barcelona's institutional film on its "Horizon 2030" strategic vision (5 min 20 s), with an English voice-over (auto-captioned on YouTube) and numerous burned-in English text captions listing the plan's projects and figures. It combines black-and-white archive imagery with sweeping aerial shots of Barcelona and the port, and is structured around pillars headed by the slogan "…on the horizon" (Citizens, Sustainability, Efficiency). The captions run through the main initiatives: port-city integration (the Portal de la Pau building, the promenade of the old breakwater, bringing the Paral·lel, La Rambla and Via Laietana into the port, new amenities and cultural spaces, the nautical bus in the Port Vell); connectivity and logistics (the only port in Spain connected to Europe with international-gauge track, the first port in Europe with a 5G network, more ship-rail intermodality, concentrating container traffic in the south of the port); sustainability (shore power for large ships —OPS—, −50% emissions by 2030, more than 100 MW of photovoltaic solar, LNG/clean-energy ships, improving air quality); and the blue economy and talent (Tech Barcelona, the World Trade Center, specialised training centres, a benchmark blue-economy ecosystem). Shots of containers, container ships (Maersk, CMA CGM, MOL), ferries, America's Cup sailing boats and the seafront are intercut. The video closes with a line about sailing "towards a horizon of innovation" and the Port of Barcelona logo.
