Quality systems
The Department of Merchandise Operations and Quality of the Barcelona Port Authority (APB) is committed, within its strategy and general objectives, to improving the Quality of the Service provided by it.

The Goods and Quality Operations Department (DOMQ) of the Port Authority of Barcelona (APB) has renewed its Quality Management certificate according to ISO 9001 standards in 2025.
The DOMQ has held this certificate since 2000, which endorses the way it performs its functions and responsibilities according to the procedures established for each process and, therefore, its ability to meet the needs and expectations of its clients.
The processes for which the DOMQ is responsible are:
- The management of the Specific Service Quality References of the Port of Barcelona, which involves their review, monitoring, as well as audits and collaboration with the Public Entity Puertos del Estado.
- The monitoring of port processes linked to Terminals (Containers, Solid and Liquid Bulk, Cruises, RoPax, Vehicles…).
- The management of the Quality Team (EQ) of the Port of Barcelona.
Compliance with ISO 9001 standards by the DOMQ is a key tool that demonstrates the continuous search for improvement in its processes and procedures.
