Agreement with the City Council

In 2025, we signed a protocol with the City Council to find a new arrangement of port spaces in the city and achieve a phasing plan for the environmentalization of cruise traffic.

We move emissions away from the city

The protocol of 2025 with the Barcelona City Council aims to reorganize the international maritime terminals, limiting their number to a maximum of 5 and transferring all cruise activity to the Adossat dock. This pact will reach full compliance in 2030.

On October 2, 2023, we said goodbye to the last cruise ship operating at the Barcelona Nord dock and all cruise activity was transferred to the Adossat dock. By the end of 2026, operations at the Barcelona South Wharf are expected to come to an end.

Restructuring of the cruise terminals

The most important lines of the pact have been fulfilled during these years and will be fully complied with in 2030.

Limitation of the number of terminals

There will be a maximum of 5 terminals in the port, 1 of them public terminal managed by Port of Barcelona Cruises and 4 private terminals.

Relocation of cruise activity

All terminals will be located at the Adossat dock to move emissions away from the city. The spaces freed up will be used for public use.

Chronology of the process of moving away from the city's cruise terminals

  • 2026

During the fourth quarter, Terminal S will be closed and Terminal C will be demolished.
Construction of Terminal G will be completed.

  • 2027

 Terminal G will become operational. Construction of the new Terminal C will begin.

  • 2028

 The berthing area of the former Terminals A and B will be rehabilitated.
Construction work will begin on a bridge identical to the Porta d'Europa Bridge.

  • 2029

 The berthing area of the former Terminals A and B will be rehabilitated.
Construction work will begin on a bridge identical to the Porta d'Europa Bridge.

  • 2030

 The twin Porta d’Europa Bridge will become operational.
The new Terminal C will become operational with three berthing positions.
