The Escola Europea - Intermodal Transport is a European training center and a reference for intermodal transport and logistics, promoting sustainable logistics in Europe through innovative courses. Its main goal is to promote intermodal transport as the basis for sustainable logistics in Europe.

The organisation focuses its activities on three main areas: Project Office and Innovation, Training and Communication, Knowledge and Research.

The Escola started its activities in 2006 as a training centre for European professionals and students of logistics, transport management and international commerce. Years later, it gained experience and know-how in the areas of administration of national and international projects, communication, content creation, and promotion and development of logistics' clusters in collaboration with recognised European institutions.

The Escola works thanks to the collaboration of the Port of Barcelona - which leads the project -, the ports of Rome, the port of Genoa, the shipping companies Grimaldi Group Napoli and Grandi Navi Veloci, as founding members; and the port of Palermo (Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mare di Sicilia Occidentale). Since the beginning, the Escola works hand in hand with the European Shortsea Network and specifically with the national Shortsea Promotion Centers, which promote short sea and the Escola's activities on local levels.

Courses

The Escola offers a wide range of training and technical courses specialized in maritime and rail intermodal transport, new logistics trends, temperature-controlled freight transport and energy transition, in addition to the Port Virtual Lab, a virtual simulation laboratory of a port community.
