Official opening of the Port of Barcelona's first Onshore Power Supply (OPS) system at the BEST terminal

The Port of Barcelona's first Onshore Power Supply (OPS) system will be officially opened at the Hutchison Ports BEST terminal. The OPS, installed as part of the Nexigen plan, is the first electric power supply system for ships at a container terminal in a Mediterranean port.

The event will be attended by the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Pere Aragonés; the Regional Minister for Territory, Esther Capella; the Secretary General of Air and Maritime Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Benito Núñez; the mayor of El Prat del Llobregat, Lluís Mijoler; the president of Puertos del Estado, Álvador Rodríguez Dapena; and Port of Barcelona president Lluís Salvadó. Also in attendance will be the CEO of Hutchison Ports BEST, Guillermo Belcastro; and Hutchison Ports BEST European Division Managing Director Clemence Cheng, among others.

The Port of Barcelona will provide a bus to take media representatives to BEST. The bus will depart from the World Trade Center, in the car park of the former North Cruise Terminal at 8.45 am. Any media attending with a mobile unit will need to follow the bus to access the terminal. The bus will return as from 12.30 pm.
