The Law on State Ports and the Merchant Navy, among which is the Port of Barcelona, sets the fees for the use of the port domain, but also takes into account the competition that these infrastructures face at the international level and, therefore, allows a series of bonuses. The use of this tool allows the Port of Barcelona a certain flexibility in its management strategies and it uses this to encourage better environmental practices, increase the quality of the provision of services or encourage the acquisition, loyalty and growth of traffic and maritime services.
