The project

The objective is the acquisition and installation of the automated equipment necessary for border control at the Port of Barcelona within the framework of the EES (Entry/Exit System) and ETIAS, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/2226.

The EES system will centrally collect the following data from third-country nationals intending to enter through the external borders of any Member State:

  • Biometric data (fingerprints and facial images)
  • Personal data: name, passport, date and place of entry/exit from the EU.

The system must cover the following cruise terminals: Terminal C (public), Terminal E (Carnival), Terminal G (Royal Caribbean), and Terminal H (MSC), as well as the ferry terminals Contradique and Transmediterránea.
