Strategic plan: Social sustainability
The video is a promotional presentation about social sustainability and the 4th Strategic Plan of the Port of Barcelona [00:01]. It opens with the title on screen over aerial shots of terminal cranes at dawn [00:02]. Throughout the video, dynamic shots highlight the diversity of port work: professionals in control rooms with monitors, operators inspecting containers, dockworkers, port police, and laboratory scientists. On a social and urban level, scenes showcase city life along the waterfront, with people walking, cycling, large music festivals near the sea, and recreational boats. Marc Nicolás, a student of Nautical and Maritime Transport at the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona, addresses the camera in front of the faculty building [00:38] and is later seen adjusting a sailboat's rigging at the port [00:46]. Four numbered strategic pillars are superimposed on screen:
- Promoting training, employment, entrepreneurship, and talent attraction [00:58].
- Fostering equal opportunities, showing workers at the Grupo CARES facilities [01:21].
- Integrating the port with the urban and metropolitan environment, including the renovation of the Espanya Quay and infographics of green corridors connecting the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park with Montjuïc Park [01:36].
- Guaranteeing the well-being and safety of people [01:55]. The video ends with Marc addressing the camera again at the port [02:05] and the final Port de Barcelona logo with the slogan "A better future for everyone" [02:14].
