Project Aim

The Compass project aims to reduce damage to moored vessels caused by the passing-ships effect, which has become more prevalent due to increased traffic and larger vessel sizes. The project will develop real-time decision-making systems using low-cost IoT monitoring to predict ship movements and provide recommendations for port access and exit, considering climate conditions.

Tecnnologies Used

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Learning
  • Monitoring Systems

Expected outcomes

  • Improved Safety and Operability: By preventing damage during loading and unloading operations.
  • Enhanced Decision-Making: For both load/unload operations and traffic management.

Pilot implementation

The project will conclude with a pilot implementation at the 34B dock of the Port of Barcelona to verify and adjust the prediction tool.
