Historical photographs by Antonio Borrelles
The Port de Barcelona has incorporated into its Photographic Collection a set of 253 historical photographs by Antonio Borrelles Lanceta (Seville, 1942–2024), taken during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, and donated by Marcos Pacheco Morales-Padrón, the legal custodian of the collection, who preserved the photographic set until its incorporation into the Port de Barcelona Archive.
The images constitute a valuable documentary record of the maritime and port activity of the period. The collection includes scenes related to loading and unloading operations, the flow of goods, the presence of vessels of various types, and the port’s daily life, making it possible to document the evolution of the Port de Barcelona during these years.
The incorporation of this collection contributes to enriching the documentary heritage of the Port de Barcelona, expanding the sources available for historical research and the dissemination of port memory. In accordance with the criteria of the Records Management and Archive Service, the collection will be preserved, catalogued, and progressively made available to researchers and the general public.
The donation has been received by the team of the Records Management and Archive Service of the Port de Barcelona, represented by Lluís Guil, head of the Records Management and Archive Service, and Irati Tena, specialist technician in archival science and documentation.
