GREEN MARINE MED brings together, engages and mobilises the comprehensive Mediterranean Green Shipping stakeholder community, representing the full value chain including actors from the full vessel community, ports and marinas, fuel and energy, as well as finance, investment, innovation and other stakeholders. The comprehensive Network creates the foundation to enable the most broadly supported and useful Monitoring and Technology Foresight on Mediterranean Green Shipping. Through the project’s unique inclusion of accelerators and other business support programmes in the Network, GREEN MARINE strengthens the position of Green Shipping entrepreneurs and start-ups in the region.

With the launch of an International Call for Green Shipping Innovation, the project provides specific support to start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs to revolutionise the ports and maritime transport industries and to ensure the acceleration of Green Shipping innovation in the Mediterranean.

Thanks to its specific focus on innovation, capacity building and sustainable finance, GREEN MARINE MED has a strong basis for scalability across the Mediterranean region and beyond, enhancing north-south sharing of best practices. The Mediterranean Green Shipping Network is sustained through the commitment of the project lead, the World Ocean Council, to develop and host a Center of Excellence on Mediterranean Green Shipping.
