At the Port of Barcelona we understand that specific, adapted and up-to-date training can be a relevant factor of competitiveness for companies in our environment. For this reason, the Port Community promotes initiatives to have within reach a training offer, at various levels, focused on the port business and intermodality. We want to attract talent to the port and logistics world.

Promote vocational training and attract talent

The Port Community of Barcelona has promoted a major strategic collaboration agreement to promote quality Vocational Training (VT) and attract talent in the port and logistics world. The final objective is to have profiles adjusted to the real needs of the logistics and port sectors that also favour the creation of qualified jobs.

Port entities and companies, joining forces

Through the agreement, several training centres and public administrations involved in training and employment joined forces with the following port entities and companies:

    Vocational training

    Institute of Logistics of Barcelona

Vocational Training Centre established through the collaboration between the Barcelona Education Consortium and the Port of Barcelona. It is a dynamic and innovative centre, 'connected to change'. The centre is open to the entire port community and to the internationalisation of the country's company and industry, in order to generate synergies and professional and innovation networks.

Study professional profiles of the Port Community of Barcelona

This study was commissioned by the Barcelona Port Authority at the Barcelona Vocational Training Foundation with the aim of adapting the dual training offer to the real professional demand of the sector, adapting the VT qualifications to the specific needs of the companies that develop their activity in the Port Community environment.

To prepare it, a survey was first sent to detect the current and future needs of professionals, especially in the field of Vocational Training (VT). Once the information was compiled, working groups were held with some of the companies of the Port Community with the aim of comparing the profiles of professionals that are currently hired and which profiles are difficult to cover, focusing attention on the field of vocational training. .

In short, this study aims to contribute to improving the employability of people and boosting the competitiveness of companies.
