Rambla de la Marina

Rambla de la Marina is the space occupied by the old breakwater promenade before the opening of the Bocana Nord del Port. In the future it will be the extension of the Joan de Borbó promenade to the south of the city. An elevated promenade that will end in a privileged public space where people can enjoy and observe the environment.

Viewpoint building

The end of Rambla de la Marina will be framed by a singular building, whose shape has a double meaning: exit door towards the sea and a bridge connecting the port and the city.

Citizen meeting point

The first floor of the building will house a restaurant. The rest is planned as a public space for rest, observation and knowledge of the port.

The lower space, at the foot of Rambla, will be the end of the promenade; the upper one will be a terrace with amazing views of the city, the port and the sea. In addition, one of the "legs" of the building will establish the link between the Rambla and the Marina Vela.

The building leads to some stands open to views of the Bocana Nord, the Porta de Europe and the cruise ship pier, on the one hand; and on the other, the Montjuïc mountain and the city.

Theming project: once upon a time a breakwater

Through the spaces of Rambla de la Marina used to run the old promenade of the breakwater before the opening of the Bocana Nord. To commemorate it, various exhibitions have been planned along the entire Rambla, which will recreate the evolution over time of both the promenade and the port in general.

The historical-cultural approach to this space will begin at access stairs to the Rambla, continue along the pavement of the promenade, extend to the esplanade of the Viewpoint building with various demonstrations and end on the breakwater. You will find more details and images in the chapter dedicated to the project.
