Carbon footprint of the APB
The Barcelona Port Authority is consistent with the port's global commitments regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. For years, it has applied measures that have led to the reduction of its carbon footprint as an organisation.
Voluntary agreements of the Generalitat
In 2012, the Port Authority adhered to the voluntary Agreements for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions promoted by the Catalan Office for Climate Change (OCCC) of the Generalitat de Catalunya. It thus committed itself to gradually reduce direct and indirect emissions (scope II) due to the consumption of its land and maritime fleet and to reduce electricity consumption.
Setting an example
In addition to its commitment as an organisation, it promotes adherence to these voluntary agreements among concessionaires and the Port Community in general.
