Training

Port Vell houses the headquarters of the European School of Intermodal Transport, the Barcelona Nautical Institute and the Barcelona Nautical Faculty. In addition, the Maritime Museum offers training for professionals and experts on maritime heritage.

Competitiveness factor

We are convinced that having a comprehensive, quality training offer adapted to the needs of the labour market is an important factor for competitiveness and economic development in our environment. That is why we want to promote it within our possibilities.

Our vision for the future in this area is detailed in the 4th Strategic Plan of the Port of Barcelona. Our proposal is to combine the offer with the creation of a new integrated centre for innovation, knowledge and training on logistics, the blue and nautical economy, with its own facilities around Nova Bocana and other areas of Port Vell.

References in sailing

Port Vell has the conditions to have a leading educational offer in the field of sailing. Our goal is to reinforce this position by working with existing training programmes and agents, in order to give more visibility to the port sector.

In addition to promoting the offer of the Barcelona Nautical Institute and the Nautical Faculty of Barcelona among secondary school students, we want to promote the acquisition of skills at all levels of activity. In summary: generating powerful professional profiles in this field, a goal with the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic.< /p>

Training at the Maritime Museum

The Barcelona Maritime Museum, which is also located in the Port Vell area, offers a wide range of proposals for schools,  families, adults, and professionals and experts aimed at disseminating culture and maritime heritage. Cultural initiatives designed with a clear desire to connect with everyone to offer experiences, encourage participation and encourage enjoyment in the Museum.
