A community of 40,000 people

The Port Community encompasses a world in itself that generates around 40,000 direct jobs238,000 indirect jobs and represents, as a logistics cluster, almost 6% of Catalonia’s GDP.

The Port of Barcelona began to become a single port community of services with the signing of the Concerted Quality Charter in 1993, through the integration of public and private operators with responsibilities and interests in the territorial area, with the aim of meeting the needs and expectations of its clients.

Its actions are defined within a plenary body called the Governing Council for the Promotion of the Port Community of Barcelona.
