Pier 01

International technological hub

Pier 01 is an international technology hub in the Palau de Mar, a historic building located in the heart of Barcelona’s maritime district and built between 1880 and 1890 to house the old General Stores of Commerce. It is a meeting point for the different actors that make up the technological and digital ecosystem. Its 11,000 meters are home to more than 100 companies, including start-ups, venture builders, consultants and large corporations.

All spaces of Pier 01, such as the co-working areas, the showrooms or common areas, are specifically designed to encourage innovation and collaboration among the more than 1,000 people from all over the world who live in this hub.

Barcelona Tech City

The Pier 01 project was created by Barcelona Tech City, with the idea of contributing to the creation of an ideal environment for digital companies, but also to promote Barcelona's technological brand internationally, attract investment and talent, both local and foreign, and collaborate with other organisations in accelerating the technological ecosystem.

Barcelona Tech City is a private non-profit organisation in which all the agents of the technological environment are represented, both entrepreneurs who are taking their first steps or companies in an initial stage, even venture capital funds, investor sponsors, business schools, technological universities and public bodies.

This initiative fully identifies with the values of social responsibility and innovation of the Port of Barcelona, which is why the Port is a strategic partner Icon of Barcelona Tech City.
