Equality Plan

The Equality Plan is the orderly set of measures of the Barcelona Port Authority to achieve equal treatment and opportunities between women and men and eliminate discrimination based on sex. The measures have been adopted after carrying out a diagnosis of the situation in the organisation.

Areas of action

The Equality Plan includes twenty-three measures designed with the intention of having an impact in different areas day-to-day activities of the Port Authority: internal and external communication, personnel selection, professional training or the working conditions of workers, among others.

The document is based on several specific objectives such as the promotion of the rights of women in situations of gender violence or the elimination of vertical and horizontal segregation. Along these lines, the Port of Barcelona has been promoting women to occupy positions of power within its organisational chart for years now to reduce collateral aspects of inequality such as the wage gap.

The Equality Plan has been prepared based on a diagnosis of the situation in the organisation.

Concrete actions in 4 years

In this plan, the entity once again considers its external and internal communication and proposes, for example, to extend its own guide of good practices on inclusive language and include images in it, or establishes the purpose of promoting gender policies among its staff.

The Equality Plan 2022-2026 arose from all these desires, which includes the specific actions that the Port of Barcelona is already working to implement and wants to fulfil in the next four years.
