Our first business mission to a destination in South-east Asia had a high institutional profile and great media coverage. In Vietnam 2018 we presented ourselves as the best node for the redistribution of Asian merchandise in Europe.

Delegation
40 people participated in the mission to Vietnam and it was led by the minister of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Damià Calvet, and by the president of the Port of Barcelona, Mercè Conesa.
The organisation will have the collaboration of ICEX, Foment del Treball, Casa Asia, Pimec, the Generalitat and the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam.
Work Agenda
The work programme for the participating companies included:
- Business days in both cities: 500 attendees in total.
- Work meetings at networking lunches held in both cities.
- Bilateral contacts, with a session organised in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the institutional agenda consisted of:
- Meetings with administrations and entities: the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the port of Da Nang, Vietnam National Maritime Administration (Vinamarine) and the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA).
- Meetings with shipping companies: CMA-CGM, MSC and Hapag Lloyd.
- Visits to the facilities of Volcafe and Saigon Newport Corporation.
- Signing of collaboration agreements between the Port of Barcelona and the Vietnamese Ports Association (VPA) and the associations of the Port Community of Barcelona (ATEIA, COACAB and ACV) with their Vietnamese counterparts.
