Japan 2019

The 2019 mission made it possible to explore the possibilities of the Japanese market, taking into account the Japan-EU Free Trade Agreement and the Asian country's interest in increasing its trade relations with Europe.

Delegation

63 representatives of companies from the Port Community and foreign trade participated in the mission and was chaired by the Minister of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Damià Calvet; the Minister of Business and Knowledge, Mª Angels Chacón, and the President of the Port of Barcelona, Mercè Conesa.

 

Work agenda

The programme of the mission included in Tokyo:

  • Business conference "Japan-Catalonia: new business opportunities": 225 attendees.
  • Customs technical seminar: 65 participants.
  • Bilateral contacts: 175 agendasscheduled by the ACCIÓ office in Tokyo.

 

The broad institutional agenda consisted of:

  • 5 signed collaboration agreements.
  • 20 visits and work meetings, including UCC Coffee Academy, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Japan, the port of Tokyo, the port and the Yokohama city hall, Casal Catalán, NISSAN, All Nipon Airways (ANA), Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects, and the shipping companies Mitsui Osk Lines (MOL) and Nippon Express (ONE).
