Business incubation
One of the objectives of the Port of Barcelona is to promote innovation within the port community. To this end, the port collaborates in the development of business incubation and acceleration programmes.
Blue-Up
Blue-Up is an innovative entrepreneurship programme promoted by Barcelona Activa that wants to support the creation and growth of companies in the blue economy sectors, sustainable economic activities related to the aquatic field.
The Blue-Up programme has the Port of Barcelona and Costa Cruises as key partners, as well as collaborating entities such as the UPC, the Barcelona Nautical Cluster, Seastainble Ventures and Aticco.
In the first edition of the pre-incubation programme, the most innovative project and the most sustainable project were awarded €10,000 each.
A total of 49 applications were submitted, of which 14 were selected for the bootcamp that took place prior to the programme. Ultimately, 11 projects received training and mentoring from the pre-incubation programme, and two were selected as winners.
New Talent +
New Talent + is a programme that promotes vending specialised territory of innovative, technology-based companies, and boosts the economy blue.
This programme is promoted by IVAEMPA and co-financed by funds from the European Union.
Entities participating in the programme: Port of Barcelona, Port Torredembarra, University of Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Barcelona, Synergy, Clúster Logistic de Catalunya, Club XXI Siècle, Women Angels for STEAM and eurOcean.
