Commercial missions
Introduction
The Port of Barcelona is preparing to meet future challenges with customer-oriented logistics and by providing integrated and specialised services to help increase the competitiveness and international projection of the companies in our country.
The new economy establishes logistics regions in accordance with the trade flows generated. This makes it necessary for ports not only to build infrastructures, but also to forge alliances with and hold stakes in other external operators, ports and port communities. That is why the Port of Barcelona's various corporate missions are such an important contribution to its external promotion.
It is the reason why the Port has been organising corporate missions since 1998 as an essential part of its internationalisation strategy in the markets with the greatest growth perspectives and acts as a go-between to introduce and consolidate the presence of the Port Community and import/export companies in strategic external markets.
These missions are a meeting point for business people and institutions from both countries and serve to present and promote the Port of Barcelona and the services offered by its Port Community. They also make it possible to discover the reality of the market of the destination country, maintain bilateral contacts, detect new business opportunities and promote and increase trade relations by establishing and defining strategic alliances at corporate and institutional level.
The results obtained during all these missions have made them a successful formula in the Port's commercial strategy and have shown that the Port is also a powerful business catalyst that works to promote and improve the position of its customers outside our borders.
