Port of Barcelona commercial reps coordinate internationalisation strategies

Last week Port of Barcelona commercial representatives held their annual meeting together with the Marketing and Commercial sub-directorate, providing them an opportunity to coordinate strategies and share experiences in the Port of Barcelona's external projection. The commercial representatives shared updates on their markets with the members of the Marketing and Commercial sub-directorate, as well as the perspectives and future opportunities presented by such markets, to help coordinate the Port's commercial efforts.

Smart Ports: Piers of the Future celebrates 2022 event

The Port of Barcelona partnered with six global port leaders as part of the event: Antwerp-Bruges; Busan; Hamburg; Los Angeles; Montreal; and Rotterdam. The event also welcomed guest ports: Gothenburg, Ashdod, and Vancouver, to present their experiences on digital transformation and innovation. The Port of Gothenburg also joined the Smart Ports alliance, starting as a new member at the next edition. A continuous theme throughout the event highlighted how port-city collaboration was crucial to answer key questions on the energy transition.

Innovation and the future of the port sector will be discussed at this year's edition. The fourth edition of this initiative led by the Port of Barcelona, which returns to an in-person format, will bring together the world's leading experts in port sector innovation. Smart Ports: Piers of the Future will discuss five key elements in innovation and the future of the port sector grouped under the acronym PORTS - Partnership, Oceans, Resilience, Technology and Start-ups.
