The Forum Telemàtic mission is to establish guidelines and general objectives of the improvement projects, track them and validate the results of new procedures designed to streamline physical or documentary processes associated with the passage of goods and means of transport through the Port of Barcelona.

Port logistics community's constituent groups are represented in the Fòrum Telemàtic: shipping agents, stevedoring companies, customs brokers, forwarding agents, Customs, Port Authority, border inspection services, maritime transport users and PORTIC. Moreover, at the specific-project level, other stakeholders can be invited to attend meetings when aspects or issues in which they are involved are to be discussed, as was done with RENFE (a Spanish railway company) in 2009 when the procedure for entry and exit of goods by rail was designed.
