Iran is enjoying significant economic growth, with the International Monetary Fund forecasting annual GDP growth of 4% up to 2020. The country suffered various economic sanctions that isolated its economy and curbed industrial, technology and services development.

The Port of Barcelona closed financial year 2016 with several new record figures in traffic, such as the volume of containerised foreign trade cargo (1,202,007 TEU), total vehicles (916,834 units) and passenger (3,958,960 mouvements).

Canal Frío, serving Aragon's food industry

The launch of Canal Frío (Cold Channel) opens up new opportunities for the internationalisation of Aragon's food industry. It is a specific rail service for temperature-controlled containers (chilled and frozen) directly connecting the Zaragoza Goods Terminal (tmZ) with the Port of Barcelona.
